Penny, Dawn and Lily

Penny, Dawn and Lily are miniature schnauzers who, when released from the breeding industry were taken in by Somerset based rescue, Dogs Friends. All three dogs had experienced significant neglect, arriving with badly matted, filthy coats. All were nervous around humans, a trait that’s common in dogs kept in commercial breeding facilities which are often known as puppy farms.

Penny was badly matted when she was first with the rescue and seen by the vet. It took a little while for her to trust that nobody meant her any harm. It was obvious she had never received any love or care and had no way to understand that she was being handled to help, not harm her.

In her foster home, she made real progress and soon learned to enjoy the comforts of a lovely home. Her veterinary needs were taken care of, including spaying. There will be no more puppies for Penny, her future is now much brighter as she awaits adoption.

Dawn and Lily

Dawn and Lily arrived a little after Penny and both have clearly experienced difficult lives in the breeding industry. Like Penny, both were filthy. They will be spayed and have full vaccinations and dentals.
