When 10 year old miniature schnauzer Colin’s vet said he needed complex dental surgery his owners knew it was going to be a challenge for them to afford the estimated cost which exceeded £1200. Colin’s health and well-being risked compromise if his treatment was further delayed.
Colin’s treatment entailed multiple extractions, it proved to be more extensive than initially thought. He recovered well at home, receiving an unexpected visit, home from university for the weekend to share time with Colin from his human brother.
Following a successful application for financial assistance, Colin’s treatment costs were covered by a Schnauzerfest Grant.
UPDATE
A couple of weeks on from Colin’s dental surgery and he is doing a lot better. He is a much happier boy and is enjoying giving his cuddles and receiving them once again. When he was in pain, all this was absent, he avoided contact.
He has a lot to look forward to now, including joining a local Schnauzerfestive Walk in December where he is going to taking along his family and friends to support the charity.
