When 9 year old Mouse developed urinary incontinence issues which resisted all usual treatments, a referral to a specialist was recommended. Mouse was once a breeding dog, a life which left her with several long term health problems. All of which her adopter has taken care of in the years they have been together.
Mouse has undergone a number of tests and treatments, which have exceeded the insurance cover in place for her. Further, after a serious health crisis herself earlier in the year which has left her unable to meet the costs of Mouse’s referral, her adopter sought assistance from us.
A Schnauzerfest Grant was put in place to enable Mouse’s urinary issues to be further investigated, and if treatment is possible to do so. After a series of diagnostic tests, including an ultrasound, a number of possible causes were ruled out. Mouse has begun a new medical regime, with the hope that her symptoms can be controlled and she can enjoy a good, comfortable life. She certainly loves her siblings Madge and Marley, her human family, and home comforts, all things her breeding years deprived her of.
