Kenny, Gabby and Nadia were released from lives spent in the breeding industry to the care of Friends of Animals Wales rescue. No dog coming from the rough end of the industry, as these three have experienced, comes out unscathed. But some are more obviously traumatised and damaged. Of the three dogs, Kenny was the most pitiful.
KENNY
The poor boy’s mouth was of such concern he was quickly admitted for urgent dental care. His mouth exuded such a rotten stench, it was expected that he would lose most of his teeth. He did. All but three were removed. The pain for him of living with raging infection and decay must have been excruciating. And totally preventable if only his ‘breeder’ had given him basic attention and care.
Kenny's life has been cruel.
Kenny's life has not been his to live.
Kenny's life will now get a whole lot better.
Kenny is very withdrawn and not able yet to understand the kindness he's now surrounded by. But he will, he soon will.
GABBY AND NADIA
Nadia and Gabby are both around six years old. Arriving at the same time as Kenny, they were in better overall shape. Psychologically, their curious, inquisitive natures are on show, with a desire to explore their new surroundings in their foster homes. For dogs coming from puppy farms, to have the freedom to explore, even just a garden, must seem like a wonderful adventure. It awakens doggy senses and allows them to settle and understand that they are dogs, and can behave like it. Not confined commodities whose existence is solely to produce puppies.
We’ll be sharing and following their progress, with a Schnauzerfest Grant in place to cover the medical costs for all three dogs.
NADIA - NOW CALLED BONNIE
After receiving all the medical treatment she needed in order to head off to her new life, we’re delighted to say that Bonnie is now living a wonderful life with her adopters.
Her life can be followed on Tiktok here.
