Suzie’s life has been one of hardship and neglect. Breeding and confinement. She’s been passed around breeders, something which is not uncommon among puppy farmers. It helps them avoid scrutiny as dogs move from shed to shed out of sight.
Suzie is elderly, around 14 years of age. Unlike humans dogs stay fertile their entire life. Sadly for Suzie this has meant a long lifetime being bred from.
She is now safe in rescue but has a long road of recovery ahead. She has a mouth full of rotten teeth, badly infected ears, and other infections around her frail and worn out body.
With great thanks to her rescue (Friends of Rescue NI) for not turning her away despite being close to sinking under the burden of all they're facing. The UK is currently experiencing a crisis in animal welfare. Dogs being abandoned, surrendered, dumped in numbers not seen before.
A Schnauzerfest Grant will ensure that Suzie’s treatment costs are covered so she can live the rest of her life as well as she possibly can. This we can only do with your help.

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone involved in Suzie’s care, the difficulties of her life and the health problems she faced became too much to recover from. After experiencing post operative complications, and starting to recover, it was then sadly found she had a mass on her liver. The kindest, hardest decision was made to let Suzie go peacefully, in the arms of her fosterer. If there is any comfort to be taken, it is that Suzie knew full hearted love in the weeks she was in her foster home.
