Teddy

When we were contacted by 10 year old Teddy’s owners it was clear the situation was urgent. Teddy had suddenly developed problems with his vision. He was bumping into things and it was obvious that he couldn’t see properly. Within a day or so, signs of diabetes developed. Thankfully, Teddy’s owners acted quickly, saw his vet and an appointment at Dick White Referrals was soon in place to see if anything can be done to save his eyesight.

Teddy was adopted in 2022 along with his brother Monty from Arundawn Rescue. They joined Molly, a puppy farm rescue dog who Terry and Sue had previously adopted from the RSPCA. Molly was scared of men, but with time and patience, Terry has won her round and now they’re great friends.

Having the two boys has brought Molly out of herself and turned her into a cheeky lady. Our experience with schnauzers goes back 20 years when we rehomed Rosie and we’ve never looked back. We’ve even had a rescue giant schnauzer!
— Terry

As well as getting Teddy a swift referral to the ophthalmologist, Terry contacted us as he knew the costs for cataract surgery would be many thousands of pounds. Because of the amazing generosity of the charity’s supporters, the costs of Teddy’s double cataract surgery will be covered by a full Schnauzerfest grant.
