Rosie and her 7 Pups

When Rosie arrived at Dogs Friends Rescue in Somerset she brought a secret.

We immediately agreed to cover Rosie's costs, for the rescue. These were expected to be spaying, vaccinations, a possible dental, the usual care which breeding dogs often arrive in rescue requiring.

She settled well in her foster home, along with Freddie who arrived with her. But within days her secret was revealed. Rosie was pregnant. Delivery date unknown, number of puppies unclear on the scan, although it was thought a possible five.

The grant was extended. Thanks to your support this decision could be made quickly, easing a lot of financial worries for her rescue.

For 18 days Rosie prepared for delivery. She was cared for perfectly in her foster home, building up her strength, settling for the first time in her life into a comfortable home. For the first time ever she felt the love of humans and home.

During the morning of the 14th March Rosie gave birth to 7 puppies. Four girls and three boys. As we write, all are doing well, as is Rosie.

Your donations will help Schnauzerfest support her rescue, which at the same time as taking in Rosie, is also caring for a number of other dogs from the breeding industry, some with puppies.
