Julia's story

Julia began fundraising with us in 2015 before we were a registered charity. Every year she’s raised a lot of money in different ways.

Julia adopted Nellie in 2014, a schnauzer rescued from a puppy farm. They shared a wonderful six and a half years together. Sadly Nellie died in May 2021.

Julia knew about Schnauzerfest from reading an article about Janetta’s dog Susie-Belle, going on to meet them on a walk. Not long afterwards, Nellie was adopted. Inspired to do more than adopt, Julia turned her enjoyment of creating mosaic tiles into a fundraiser, handmaking hundreds in just a few months.

Julia uses social media to promote her fundraising and Schnauzerfest.

Each year her fundraising involves buying and selling themed items, and many handcrafted things made by friends, plus running raffles and prize draws.

Julia makes effective use of Facebook Fundraisers which are an efficient way to bring others awareness to the charity and the education it does. As well as raising significant funds every year. Julia also uses her social media to raise awareness of puppy farming and promote rescue and adoption.
