Pippi

Pippi was adopted earlier in the year from a UK rescue. She had clearly been used for breeding and when her adopter saw her, she was underweight and not in good shape at all. The rescue did not spay her before homing, nor make arrangements for this to be done post adoption.

Like many dogs from breeding backgrounds Pippi has struggled to adjust to a new life. She has also had a number of health issues which her adopter arranged to have treated.

Thankfully for Pippi she has a wonderful, caring home and is steadily recovering from her bad background. When we were approached for help by her adopter, a copy of Janetta Harvey’s guide, Why Love Is Not Enough was sent out. Thanks to a generous sponsor, we can provide free copies when we think it will help.

Pippi’s care since adoption has proven unexpectedly costly for her adopter, as she has had a few health matters to address. She was also keen that Pippi be neutered and a Schnauzerfest Grant recently covered the costs of this. Pippis is doing well and we look forward to her having a much brighter, happier future than she faced at the start of the year.
