The second largest of the Channel islands, Guernsey has a population of around 65,000, is 30 square miles in size and has a surprisngly large schnauzer community. As Janetta recently discovered when, at the invitation of Tatiana and Daren she joined the Guernsey Schnauzer Group’s walk.
The group’s last walk was in 2019 but the COVID-caused break has done nothing to dim the enthusiasm for walking with others in support of the charity and well over 25 dogs took part. It was impossible to count them accurately as the excitement caused much activity, movement and noise! All a very typical, happy gathering of our lovely - and lively - breed.
The walk was an event worthy of press interest and several news articles have appeared in the local press.
ITV Channel News filmed the walk, interviewed Janetta and masterfully managed an on camera chat with Daren and Tatiana. A chat through which their mini schnauzer Mackintosh was not to be denied his say in how much he enjoyed meeting up with his schnauzer pals again.
