Enid was adopted by Kimberley in October 2023. Before arriving into the care of Friends of Animals Wales, Enid had been one of the UK’s thousands of uncared for breeding dogs. Her life was just about producing puppies for the most profit. Before joining Kimberley and her other miniature schnauzer, Laszlo, Enid spent 4 weeks in foster care receiving love for the first time in her life. All her medical costs were covered by a Schnauzerfest Grant.
Kimberley explains why and how she is going to be raising funds and awareness for the charity throughout the year.

I have been a supporter of Schnauzerfest for a couple of years but I now feel that I have an even closer connection with the charity as all Enid’s medical costs were covered for her rescue. Enid turns three in February but with her background she hasn't had very many experiences in her life. I want that to change and as she is super curious I’ll be introducing her to new things, building her confidence and showing her what fun there is to be had.
I’ll be setting us challenges throughout the year and fundraising along the way. My plan is to set enjoyable challenges for myself, Laszlo and Enid to work towards and to donate when we achieve them. My plans will shape up during the year but we’re kicking off with this:
During the whole year
Visit at least 1 new place each month (£5)
January
Walk at least 31 miles on lead (£5)
Learn the sit command (£5)
Today we visited a country park in the north of the county which we'd not been to before, so we've kicked off with our first £5 donation. We've also bagged 2 miles towards Enid’s January lead walking target.
