Tracy first heard about Schnauzerfest through a friend just as Baxter, her miniature schnauzer puppy was arriving in her life. Seeing the photo of her friend attending a walk Tracy wasn’t aware of the extent of what the charity does, particularly educating about the puppy business. As soon as she found out more, she decided to get involved. Now every year Tracy raises money for the charity.

Why did you choose to fundraise for Schnauzerfest?

Once I’d adopted my little schnauzer crosses Winnie and Fizzy who were breeding dogs, this made Schnauzerfest personal. I make sure everyone knows that the charity raises awarness of puppy farming and funds veterinary bills for dogs saved from it. I love the whole ethos and enthusiasm which runs through the charity. I’m confident that when I raise money it goes exactly where I think it does. Knowing that vet bills can be horrendous due to the care needed by many dogs in rescue, it’s fantastic that dogs with thousands of pounds of medical needs can be given a chance of life.

What do you enjoy about fundraising for Schnauzerfest?

Schnauzerfest is thoroughly supportive of its fundraisers. Also it’s a huge reassurance knowing the money raised will go to very good use. As fundraisers we see this regularly as Schnauzerfest follows up by giving news of the dogs helped every year. Every dog really is cared about.
