It was a chance meeting at a dog event that brought our immediate attention to how Schnauzerfest could, and should help Bramble and Poppy. Both dogs were in need of essential dental work, which closely followed the expense of other unexpected veterinary treatment.
Bramble and Poppy were owned and deeply loved by one of our earliest and longest standing supporters, Jan Tarrant. Jan was known to many in the schnauzer world, and her sudden death in June 2022 left many shocked and saddened. Jan’s friend Eileen took Bramble and Poppy into her care and has looked after them ever since.
When we met Eileen and heard that veterinary treatment was needed, but cash flow was tricky at that time, we of course offered immediate assistance. All treatment went ahead as planned and Bramble and Poppy recovered perfectly.
Then, within a short time of our chance meeting Eileen received the very good news out of the blue that Jan had made provision for her dogs in her will and all the money required for their care was available. It had just taken time for the process to be finalised and Eileen notified.
Eileen kindly and generously made a donation to Schnauzerfest which will not only cover everything sent out for Bramble and Poppy, but enable help for others who need it. We know Jan would be delighted to see the charity she loved and supported
