A group of friends in South London organised their first fundraising event for Schnauzerfest in October. Here they tell us how it went.
Jessica,
“It went really well! The day was a complete success. We were really worried the weather would put people off but a miracle happened and the rain stopped for us. We organised a few competitions which were so fun. The pup cups we made went down very well.
We started the Instgram group as we were walking together. After a while we thought why not make it open? We’ve met so many other schnauzer owners across all ages and we’ve built a great group. We pride ourselves on being really open and it's so nice to see people connecting over theirs dogs. And that’s what I love the most about Schnauzerfest - how everyone comes together over their love of schnauzers.”
Louisa,
We were very excited about doing a Schnauzerfest walk but also nervous as it’d be our first! It was my turn to choose a location and plot the route. I totally doubted if I did it right but we cheered each other on, having fun organising the competition prizes too. Then the day came and it all turned out brilliantly. I got messages afterwards to thank us for a great walk! My pup Tango even got 2 of his birth brothers to join so they met for the first ime too!”
Alice,
“It’s so fun to organise the walks together! We enjoy planning them, everyone that turns up is really nice and most importantly the dogs have the best time. It’s so great watching them hang out with other schnauzers. We love chatting about what a funny breed they are, and being able to do all of this while raising money for Schnauzerfest made it even more special.”
